As an empathic psychic medium who comes from a long line of empathic psychic mediums, I am often invited to participate in investigations at reportedly haunted locations. These opportunities take me into historic homes, businesses, and heritage sites where I can explore the emotional imprints of people, events, and places long past.
I enter these investigations blind, with no advance information to influence what I perceive. If nothing presents itself, I say so plainly. Respect for the unseen requires honesty, humility, and a willingness to listen rather than demand.
One hot, sticky summer, I was invited to participate in an investigation at an undisclosed location alongside a well-known psychic. I won’t pretend otherwise—I was excited. I admired their work and felt honored to be included in a by-invitation-only event. I felt like a child on the verge of a dream come true.
Then, three nights before the investigation, I had a dream.
I stood at the threshold of a grand, dilapidated mansion. Peeling wallpaper clung to the walls, and the echoes of long-forgotten gatherings seemed to linger in the air. A sweeping, curved staircase rose before me, ornate and worn, carrying the weight of countless stories.
As I prepared to ascend, I felt anticipation ripple through me. But then the psychic I was meant to work alongside stepped ahead of me on the staircase, and the tone of the dream shifted.
Listening to Intuitive Guidance When Something Feels Off
In the dream, their approach clashed deeply with everything I had been taught. Where I had learned to listen, observe, and respect, they demanded responses. They provoked. They commanded. The space felt violated rather than honored.
I felt an immediate sense of dissonance. This was not collaboration—it was intrusion. It felt as though a sacred space had been entered without reverence, and the weight of that realization hit me hard.
I turned to our Lead Investigator in the dream, hoping for acknowledgment or intervention. None came. My concerns were dismissed. Frustration surged, and I found myself shouting, stomping, overwhelmed by the feeling that something fundamental had been crossed.
I woke up crying.
The message was unmistakable, even though it hurt. Listening to intuitive guidance sometimes requires walking away from opportunities we want badly. I knew I could not participate.
I called the Lead Investigator that morning and withdrew from the investigation. It was one of the hardest decisions I had made at that point. I felt relief and grief in equal measure.
That night, as the investigation took place without me, doubt crept in. Had I misinterpreted the dream? Had I let fear override opportunity?
The next day, my phone rang.
Then it rang again.
And again.
The truth emerged quickly. The well-known psychic had arrived fully researched and presented fabricated information as spontaneous spirit communication. Claims were made that could not be substantiated. The deception was undeniable.
I felt a quiet, steady confirmation settle in my body. Not triumph. Not relief exactly. Just knowing.
My colleagues expressed gratitude that I hadn’t been present to witness the collapse of someone I had once admired. And I understood then what the dream had protected me from—not embarrassment or disappointment alone, but the erosion of trust in my own integrity.
Dreams speak in a language beyond logic. They are not always comfortable, but they are precise. That experience taught me that listening to intuitive guidance is not about spectacle or validation. It is about alignment.
I never climbed that staircase.
But I walked away with something far more enduring: trust in the wisdom that speaks quietly, persistently, and always in service of truth.
🌿 CONTINUE THE REFLECTION
Sometimes intuitive guidance does not arrive with certainty—it arrives as a quiet knowing that asks us to pause, listen, and trust ourselves.
If this story resonates, you may feel drawn to explore how soul-level awareness, dreams, and inner guidance communicate beyond logic or proof. Through my Akashic wisdom–based courses and reflective resources, I offer grounded spaces to explore these experiences without fear, hierarchy, or pressure.
You are always invited to move gently, listen deeply, and honor the wisdom that already knows the way.
